The purpose of the department is Claim Technology Services (CTS) is the technology partner to
the Property-Casualty Claim Service Organization (P-CCSO) - one of the largest business client
bases within Allstate Corporation. CTS is partnering with P-CCSO to provide technology
solutions in support of achieving their business objectives. The CTS department is responsible
for the development and maintenance of end-to-end system applications beginning when an
Allstate customer or claimant files a claim. 

The scope of this job is Process Analyst - The Business Performance Team, which resides within
CTS, assists the P-CCSO organization across multiple areas relative to process documentation,
analysis, management, and redesign. This individual will be responsible for analyzing,
designing, developing, consulting on and implementing or reengineering processes, techniques,
and tools in a particular content area in support of operational excellence. 

The individual will be responsible for

1. Primary Responsibilities: Researches and develops process documentation standards, tools,
and methods for use by projects, APT, or Allstate. Defines methods for process assessment,
redesign & reengineering. Collects information and documents business processes and related
business rules and performance objectives. Analyzes, Redesigns and Reengineers Processes.
Executes and/or support business process management and tracks metrics ( i.e. supports
implementation and maintenance of processes and initiatives in APT or the business group). 

2. Specific Responsibilities: Analyzes processes, identifies non-value added activities,
performance issues and root causes. Recommends improvements and designs future state process.
Assists in the facilitation of process design workshops. Assists in process assessment and
redesign activities. Researches best practices. Coordinates the analysis and development
activities for defined subset of the overall effort. 

3. Specific Responsibilities: Coordinates resources to assist in implementation of process or
quality initiatives. Coaches team members to support the on-going measurement, evaluation and
improvement of business processes. Consults with process owners and process management teams
and assists in executing business process management. Analyzes reported performance trends and
makes recommendations for improvement. Assists in the prioritization of improvement
opportunities. 

4. Specific Responsibilities: Provide project management support to the client including
defining project scope, analyzing risks, and defining issues. Assists with preparing project
initiation documents including time lines, resource requirements, hardware and software
requirements, and project risks.

. Other Responsibilities: Partners with the project team or business area to provide process
related communication and education. Defines methods for effective business process management.
Defines, maintains and fosters the use of overall data security processes and tools. Assesses
process use and/or process control standards (e.g., compliance). Mentors and coaches peers and
colleagues. Builds and sustains relationships. Supports corporate strategy. Conducts knowledge
sharing or process related training and education for project teams or groups. Develops process
related training or communications. Researches and recommends business process management best
practices for use by process analysts, project teams, or leadership. Develops tools,
deliverables and reporting standards for process measurement. Evaluates potential fit and
impact of application of industry best practices. Understands and is able to articulate the
concepts and value proposition of business process management. Advises development teams on
tools and techniques available to develop and/or implement information security requirements.
Consults with business analysts and systems analysts with regard to information security
requirements. Assists in the review of and recommends security system solutions to ensure
protection of proprietary and/or confidential data and systems. Reviews or facilitates security
design, coding, or testing as requested by development teams, QC analysts, and architects.
Prepares information security reports for all levels of APT management. Monitors and documents
compliance to process standards and policies. Identifies deviations and follows up to check
improvement. Provides informal training to specialists and other professionals on the team.
Produces reports regarding processes and compliance by project teams or business groups.
Builds, cultivates, and maintains long term relationships. Manages the expectations of
customers. Assists in maintaining contact with software vendors and other groups external to
the Allstate organization. Supports and identifies opportunities to achieve the APT and
corporate strategy.

3. Intermediate - Functional Competency: Best Practices - Proficiency level 2 
4. Intermediate - Functional Competency: Internal Consulting - Proficiency level 2 
5. Intermediate - Functional Competency: Business Analysis - Proficiency level 2 

Experience Required: 
Minimum 4-5 years experience assisting large organizations with business process redesign
and/or business transformation initiatives. Minimum 3 years experience demonstrating basic
project management principals. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate success with
defining and solving complex business problems, working in a fast-paced, team environment,
multi-tasking among different projects and customer service. Candidates must possess an
interest in providing high-energy client support, developing competencies within business
process management, a willingness to learn and adapt to fast-paced results-oriented project
environment, and good communication skills. Insurance industry, Business Process Management,
and Six Sigma experiences a plus.
