DePelchin Children’s Center is seeking a talented and results-driven professional for the role
of Vice President, Development (VPD).
As a member of the senior management team, the VPD will report to the President, CEO and work
closely with Board leadership and staff on a strategic vision for the future of philanthropy
for DePelchin Children’s Center. This position will be responsible for directing and managing
the processes for the cultivation and stewardship of existing and new major gifts donors as
well as planned giving and sponsorships for corporate, foundation and individual based giving.
The VPD will supervise a staff of six professionals and work in a team-based environment to
collaborate on all aspects of fundraising.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate proven success in creating fundraising
initiatives/programs. Proven success in soliciting major gifts and/or planned giving.
Progressively responsible and excellent experience with a compelling track record of
motivating, supervising, training and developing a fundraising staff. Knowledge of accepted
practices, models, methods and techniques of annual, endowment, capital and special project
fund development and charitable giving rules, regulations and laws. Excellent verbal and
written communication skills for public speaking, grant and report writing and presentations to
small and large groups.
Additional Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s preferred
• Minimum five (5) years fundraising management experience
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office XP and Raiser’s Edge database system
• Ability to work in a team-based environment
