Job Description:
DESCRIPTION: Provide engineering, technical, and program management support to the Submarine
Acoustic Systems Program Office (PMS401) for the Acoustic Rapid COTS Insertion (A-RCI) sonar
system (AN/BQQ-10) program along with the VIRGINIA Class sonar development program. Provide
technical system analysis and studies. Analyze software design documentation and provided
technical recommendations regarding feasibility and long-term supportability. Prepare numerous
program briefings to support high-level decision-making regarding the A-RCI program. Manage
Anteon personnel providing program office support for the Submarine Acoustic Systems Program
Office. Coordinate development of specifications and design plans for embedded sonar recording
system. Participate in a multi-contractor working group to determine the best course for the
technology update of the A-RCI system. This task required a detailed understanding of computer
technology, submarine environmental requirements and software architecture. Coordinate
resolution of engineering issues related to shipboard installation of the A-RCI sonar system.
Prepare planning and budgeting documentation for the VIRGINIA Class sonar technology insertion
program. Coordinate transition of advanced development products (Advanced Processing Builds
(APB)) from PEO IWS Advanced Systems & Technology Office (ASTO) to PMS401 A-RCI program.
Provide liaison to ensure products met A-RCI technical and schedule requirements. Assist in
review of sonar system commonality initiatives and their impact on A-RCI design. Independently
develop and maintain the A-RCI System Overview document. Participate in the development and
updating of the system specification to support the integrated development of the A-RCI and
VIRGINIA Class sonar systems. Coordinate the implementation of several sonar interfaces
(combat control system, tactical support system, and acoustic intelligence system) including
the development of the Interface Requirement Specifications and resolving implementation
conflicts. Perform special projects as required. Some CONUS travel. Applicants selected will
be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for

QUALIFICATIONS: Typically requires 7-8 years related experience, including supervisory
experience. Bachelor¿s Degree in a related technical or scientific discipline, or the
equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience. Prior Submarine
service experience a plus. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to manage and ensure the successful
completion of multiple technical tasks in assigned program(s); Effective supervisory skills;
Advanced knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices associated with area of technical
expertise; Effective business development skills including proposal development and
preparation; Demonstrated effective communication skills; Thorough knowledge of relevant
government regulations and standards.
