DATABASE ANALYST/PRODUCTION SPECIALIST, DATABASE OPERATIONS
Location:

Candidates must have a strong aptitude for data analysis, critical thinking and customer
relations. They must possess strong organizational and communication skills and exceptional
analytical and technical skills. SAS or other programming skills highly desired.

Description:
This position reports to the Director of Database Operations, and will work as an important
member of the Database Operations and Managed Care teams serving the following roles:
1. Interact with customers, business partners, and internal teams to ensure timely, accurate
data submission and processing, and resolution of client specific data issues. 
2. Have responsibility for receiving, tracking and correctly processing all incoming data. 
3. Work with programmers to ensure all data are processed correctly and meets the quality
standards for inclusion in the production database.
4. Assist in the development and delivery of PharMetrics Managed Care products and services,
including data quality reports and national and regional cost and utilization benchmark
products.
5. Assist in the development and implementation of data sourcing partnerships to grow the
PharMetrics Patient-Centric Database.


• Specific responsibilities include:
• Support initiatives to secure new data exchange relationships and to upgrade current
relationships. 
• Draft and maintain data implementation plans and processing specifications for new or
upgrade customers and partners. 
• Assess completeness and accuracy of client data submissions relative to implementation plans
and summarize issues for customers and internal teams.
• Coordinate and track timely ongoing data submission and issue resolution between
clients/business partners and internal teams. 
• Offload the data from a variety of media – ftp, cd, mainframe tape, dat tape, encrypt and
upload.
• Create mapping files for all incoming data to PharMetrics standard variables. 
• Determine appropriate processing steps for each data submission and provide clear
instructions to the programmers.
• Evaluate the data results of each plan’s processed data, and determine whether or not the
data meets the quality standards to be included in the production database. Work with
programmers and customers to resolve any data quality issues as quickly as possible.
• Assist with each production update, to include moving data to appropriate location,
performing DQ analysis on the entire production database, and the production of standard
reports.
• Serve as an expert resource for the entire organization in their use of the data.
• Assist with internal research and development efforts regarding data processing and analytic
methodologies as well as product development initiatives. 
• Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly management reports that track departmental progress
versus goals and objectives.
• Maintain presentations, data specification documents, sample normative data products and
other marketing collateral for the Managed Care and Database Operations teams and send
information to prospects as needed.
• Assist in the coordination of company participation in industry conferences.
• Support the timely, cost-effective achievement of key department metrics and milestones.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
