ALSTOM Power Inc., a world leader in the supply of power generation services and equipment in
seeking an Accounting Analyst for its Shared Services Accounting group in ALSTOM Power’s
Windsor, Connecticut Headquarters. Primary duties include:
- Assist in preparation of U.S. GAAP audited financial statements including footnotes.
- Develop supporting schedules, coordinate compilation of financial data, review and analyze
statements and ensure compliance with accounting principles/ standards.
- Assist in implementation of new accounting principles/standards as required.
- Participate in completion of annual external audit, support the audit with any analysis,
supporting documentation, or commentary as necessary.
This position will also focus on financial reporting, consolidation accounting activities.
This involves the consolidation and review of various business unit financial statements, as
well as other analysis and corporate reporting. You'll also support various business segments
and provide technical advice. Responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of the
U.S. consolidation of actual, forecast and budget information, preparing reports for monthly
closings, assisting in related account analysis and interaction with external auditors and
other business units.
We will train the right candidate to gain knowledge of the Hyperion financial reporting system
as a user including writing reports, modifying logic, updating organization structures and
other routine type tasks.
Provide support to all financial personnel in the U.S. businesses across all sectors. Support
should include research of accounting and reporting issues, implementation of new accounting
standards, as well as any other accounting issues that may arise.
Special projects as required. Candidate must also exhibit strong self-starting behavior and
display high levels of initiative in order to handle the projects and responsibilities of the
position and the group.
Various levels of both regional and global management as well as other departments in the
finance organization including treasury and tax.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance required. CPA candidate preferred.
Minimum of 2-4 years experience in a public accounting firm and/or a corporate, financial
organization. Must possess strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Must
also possess strong competencies in use of personal computer and financial system software
applications including Microsoft office. Knowledge of Hyperion Enterprise a plus. Must
interface effectively with all levels of the organization.
