The ideal candidate will have an M.D. degree, preferably with experience in infectious
diseases, and possess analytical skills. The candidate should be able to work effectively as a
team leader, or as a team member, to have excellent writing/editing skills, and be able to
communicate effectively to groups of professionals.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Oversight and assessment of the ongoing Cubicin Outcomes Registry and Experience (CORE),
including data analysis, publication, and evaluation of program needs. CORE is a retrospective
analysis of patients who have received Cubicin in 45 different institutions nationwide.
Oversight of Phase 4 Post-surgical wound infection analysis and publication.
Assist in, or assume responsibility for the planning and execution of Cubist initiated
non-registration clinical studies, such as a clinical evaluation of the outcomes of
osteomyelitis treated with Cubicin.
Design and implementation of phase 4 studies, for example, studies evaluating the efficacy in
infected intravascular catheter salvage.
Establish strategy and design plan for Cubist Pharmaceuticals scientific publications.
Provide medical expertise to the Medical Affairs team responsible for informational letters,
slides, and training materials. This will include expedient review of materials for accuracy
of medical content.
Represent the company and communicate scientific issues to internal and external constituents
in a variety of forums, including national and international scientific meetings and
Education and Experience:
This position requires a MD, preferably with experience in infectious diseases. The candidate
should have 2-3 years experience in data management, data analysis, epidemiology, and/or
clinical development. The candidate should be able to demonstrate proficiency in scientific
writing, as evidenced by scientific publications. Attention to detail and excellent oral
communication skills are essential. Industry experience is preferred.
