Job Description:
We are looking for an individual who will design, conduct and coordinate scientific studies for
the physical/chemical characterization/evaluation of Microbia’s development candidates. The
successful applicant will be responsible for analytical method development and validation and
involved in the development and evaluation of drug formulations for toxicology and clinical
studies. Other job responsibilities span from the participation in product development teams
to providing technical support to clinical manufacturing, quality assurance, analytical R&D,
and to regulatory affairs including the writing and reviewing of technical documents for
contributions to regulatory filing.

You will be challenged to build a successful biopharmaceutical company and play a very active
role in developing Microbia's internal and external infrastructure. Specifically, you will
build out a growing formulation department and help managing Microbia’s formulation
development activities on multiple projects. You will be part of cross-functional, highly
collaborative development teams and actively contribute towards our goal of bringing high
quality human medicines to the market place.

We are looking for a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics, Physical Pharmacy or Analytical Chemistry with a
minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or alternatively a BS/MS Chemist with 6+ years of
relevant experience. The ideal candidate has a good understanding of physical, inorganic, and
organic chemistry as well as intimate knowledge of pharmaceutical sciences and formulation
development. Solid oral dosage form experience and familiarity with FDA/ICH guidelines
relative to drug substance characterization are a requirement. A great team spirit and strong
oral and written communication skills with experience in writing SOPs, technical reports and
related documents are necessary.
