2. Reporting / Organization
7.1 Manages, oversees and coordinates all facets of the preconstruction phase of the
development of New Construction school facilities projects:
7.2 Is personally responsible and is held accountable for the overall success of each
Project from initial planning stages until handover to the construction unit upon DSA approval
of construction documents and occupants relocated from project parcels.
7.3 Manages both the project budget and schedule while ensuring that the project meets
all LAUSD qualitative standards.
7.4 Is responsible for anticipating and rectifying potential obstacles before they
jeopardize the project’s success.
7.5 Works in conjunction with Real Estate staff, other LAUSD facilities departments and
outside stakeholders that have a role in the success of the project to ensure that they
successfully fulfill their project responsibilities.
3. Duties – in order of importance
8.1 Successfully manages the individuals (employees of the District, outside
consultants and representatives of other public agencies) that make up the matrixed teams that
support the development of the Project from initial planning stages to handover to the
construction unit. Personally responsible for the successful management of the following
team member’s involvement, contribution and performance:
· Community Stakeholders
· Local District Representatives
· Design Managers and Architects of Record
· Community Outreach Organizers
· Representatives of Local and State Agencies
· Cost Analysts (Cost Accountants)
· Real Estate Acquisition and Relocation Personnel
· CEQA Managers
· Environmental Review Managers
· Grants and Funding Support Personnel
8.2 Directs and manages all facets of multiple projects
8.3 Responsible for 4 to 15 projects simultaneously, ranging in value from $2M to
8.4 Develops implements and executes project delivery strategy.
8.5 Conducts regularly scheduled project team meetings, prepares meeting minutes,
follows up to ensure all parties meet their commitments.
8.6 Presents program and project mission and progress to selected stakeholder
8.7 Leads workshops with stakeholder groups to ensure inclusiveness in the process
of the development of each project.
8.8 Prioritizes team’s effort to ensure that the most important issues are
addressed and important deadlines and deliveries are met.
8.9 Ability to resolve conflicts in a timely, judicious, and efficient manner.
8.10 Prepares monthly and weekly reports of progress and key action items that need to

4. Minimum Requirements
9.1 At least 5 years experience in development management or related fields managing
multiple program or project efforts.
9.2 Experience in educational facility planning, Real Estate Development, Design
Management, and Construction Management with Program level management considered an “added
