The Senior Staff Representative - Alliances, serves as primary interface and overall
relationship manager for Unitedís alliance partners. Assigned a specific geographic area of
responsibility and targeted revenue goals. Candidate must have the background and ability to
leverage external and internal contacts to implement strategies to drive incremental revenue
to United. Manages and coordinates all phases of contract negotiations including route
strategy, schedule, yield management, automation, facilities, advertising, promotions, sales
strategies, preparation and implementation of the established agreement.
Establishes and maintains ongoing productive relationships with senior management of assigned
accounts and is responsible for analysis, interpretation and monitoring of performance.
Ensures carrier goals are aligned and communicated within Alliances department and to United
leadership. Provides functional direction internally to maximize revenue and performance
potential, and externally communicates with senior management of other airlines to resolve
day-to-day marketing and operational issues. Candidate must have the ability to understand
multiple perspectives and goals, in order to build consensus across a number of stakeholders.
Travel: Up to 35% international travel and frequent after-hours calls with Asia partners.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Education level: Bachelors degree required.
Qualifications: Strong communication skills, presentation skills, business acumen, economic
orientation, negotiating skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Must be fluent in
speaking, reading and writing Mandarin, preferably Beijing dialect. Minimum of 5 years
hands-on knowledge and cultural experience in Northern China strongly preferred.
