Job Description:
Under indirect supervision, oversees, leads, and coordinates the implementation, maintenance,
support and/or modification of Financial, Registration and Medical Records Software
applications. The Applications Analyst provides guidance and direction in establishing the
functions required for the successful development and implementation required by end users,
including working with the end users to complete information system integration,
implementation and streamline processes. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Must possess exemplary analytical abilities. 2. Provides
quality customer service as a member of the team. Ongoing communication, feedback, and
follow-through with end users are essential. 3. Can effectively interact with users as part of
a team in multiple venues, and environments. 4. Plans, manages and over-sees projects or
components of projects, utilizing recognized project management methodologies 5. Able to
identify complex problems, their probable causes, their impact on operations, and report them
to the appropriate parties, offer possible solutions, and decide on the optimal course of
action; able to independently and/or collaboratively bring problems to a complete resolution.
6. Works collaboratively with other departments and personnel to address issues and provide
solutions. 7. Provides ongoing support of live applications, e.g., on-site telephone support,
dictionary maintenance, system enhancements, upgrades, and hardware deployment. 8. Knows when
to seek and accept guidance from those with advanced experience; able to provide guidance and
/or support when needed, such as orientating new staff into the team. 9. Participates in
committees, task forces, and teams as needed. 10. Communicates work and project status to team
members and management. 11. Acts as a role model to other analysts in a nurturing, coaching
role. 12. Must be well organized and systematic in their work. 13. Able to prioritize and
simultaneously work on multiple tasks and projects. 14. Ability to interact with people from
all organizational levels and build consensus through negotiation and diplomacy. 15. Strong
written and verbal communication skills. Strong presentation skills. - Self-motivated,
independent and possess the ability to learn quickly. - Performs other duties and special
projects as assigned by Information Systems Management. 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: h Bachelor degree required. 3+ years experience in healthcare
information systems required. Information systems experience in the Finance, Medical Records
and Registration is a plus. h Experience with McKesson and Meditech preferred. h Strong PC
skills required including knowledge of common PC applications and MS Office suite. Knowledge
of MS Project a plus. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: h Ability to supervise and
train assigned staff including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. h
Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops. h Ability to communicate
with and understand the requirements of professional staff. h Ability to interpret and evaluate
user requests, and to develop alternative implementation plans as appropriate. h Ability to
develop documentation for training, software/hardware use, user procedures, and as-required
project deliverables. h Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work
effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse hospital enviroment. h Ability to
determine the nature and cause of technical problems and coordinate hardware and/or software
solutions. h Ability to develop and deliver presentations. h Ability to coordinate and
integrate computer applications from an overall applications services perspective. h Ability
to develop and deliver effective technical presentations, both verbally and in writing.
