Job Description:

Provide technical phone support to customers using Symantec online products, including VERITAS
Storage Foundation for Oracle RAC and VERITAS Volume Replicator. In this position you will work
closely with customers on complex UNIX system-level problems. You will work with the customer
to define the problem, determine a solution and then assist the customer in implementing the
solution. Your typical customer may be a senior systems administrator, consultant or DBA. This
position may be filled in either Milpitas, CA or Newton, MA. Symantec Corporation is an Equal

Familiarity with high availability and/or storage management products is strongly desired. 3+
years experience supporting Unix system-level products. Experience using VERITAS Cluster
Server, Volume Manager and FileSystem is very helpful. Knowledge and experience should also
include: storage management; shell/perl scripting, previous Unix Systems administration
experience. Linux, AIX and HP-UX experience is desired. Experience with Oracle database and/or
RAC is also a plus.

Solid knowledge of Solaris is essential. Good written and verbal communication skills, an
ability to analyze and resolve problems, and a positive, friendly customer-service attitude
are all requirements for this position.
