Incumbent is expected to adhere to system and departmental compliance policies and any
applicable laws and regulations. The Nurse Manager assumes accountability and responsibility
for translating the philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the
nursing service into effective action. Must demonstrate BHS operating principles and
behaviors. Responsibility is centralized within 6 major areas: Clinical practice, leadership,
collaboration, professional development, management of the enviornment and strategic planning.
The Nurse Manager monitors and ensures excellence in the clinical practice of nursing and the
delivery of patient care on the unit. He/She creates an environment that supports and
celebrates the professional growth of the nursing staff. The Nurse Manager collaborates with
other members of the institution to insure the delivery of services to meet patient care
needs. He/She is accountable for managing human, fiscal and other resources needed to support
clinical nursing practice and positive patient outcomes. Provides leadership and collaboration
in setting the direction of their unit and is responsive to changing internal and external
factors. Observe all health and safety requirements. REQUIREMENTS: Mass RN Licensure required.
BSN, BS, or BA required. Masters preferred. Clinical management and leadership expereince
required. CPR certification required.
