Job Description:
Setra Systems is looking for a highly motivated individual who thrives on continuous

Senior Vacuum Transducer Product Development Engineer

 

The person who fills this positon will contribute to Setra’s growth through design and
development of new products.  He/She must be considered an expert in a field related to
electromechanical systems, high vacuum systems, and materials science.  The right person to
fill this position will be highly team oriented in finding creative root-cause solutions, and
is self-directed in the tactical execution of complex tasks and objectives.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Developing successful new products. 

·         Designing products for manufacturability.

·         Understanding the needs of customers and applications and designing to detailed
specifications.

·         Applying advanced principles and techniques to accomplish the goals and objectives
of the department.

·         Conducting simulation and analyses for design optimization. 

·         Evaluating products, parts, or processes for reliability, performance and cost
effectiveness

·         Developing test strategies and systems to evaluate products, components and
assemblies to design specifications.

·         Detailed reports, work instructions, procedures and summaries.

·         Providing technical leadership to other engineers and technicians.

 

Position Qualifications:

Mechanical Engineering degree or Physica degree with mechanical bias. MS degree preferred. 

8+ years experience in a related field. 

Working knowledge in Materials Science/Strength of materials

Hands on / team oriented

Passion to deliver break through technology solutions 

Working knowledge of High Vacuum Systems and design 

Experience with various test and measurement devices 

Knowledge of assembly methods including welding, glass fustion and brazing

Instrumentation/ capacitive based sensor design experience

Data driven/ statistical analysis skills 

Electromechanical experience

Project management skills 

Six Sigma experience, DOE tools knowledge 

Customer interface skills
