Contracts Business Manager
Volt Services Group, a leader in the staffing industry is working with one of the top defense
contractors in the country with over 20,000 employees and sales over $4 billion. We are
searching for a Contracts Business Manager for our customers Chelmsford, MA location.
The business manager is responsible for the financial management of all contracts to ensure
all efforts perform within cost, schedule and management constraints. This includes reporting,
analysis and recommendations to program and organizational management. Additionally, the
business manager must ensure contracts are conducted within the Federal Acquisition
Regulations (FAR) standards. This responsibility is met by establishing and maintaining
professional relationships with Government audit agencies such as DCAA, DLA and DCMC. These
standards must be imparted to all Program participants.
The business manager is responsible for generating, with support from management and
engineering, and submitting Rough Order Magnitude (ROMs) and formal cost proposals. Again, in
doing so, the business manager must ensure the FAR is adhered to. The business manager has the
responsibility of ensuring cost proposals submitted represent current, complete and accurate
data. The business manager is designated as the 'book boss' for all cost proposal volumes
The business manager will be responsible to support fact-finding and negotiation of proposals
submitted. This includes support of Government audits of submitted proposals, again ensuring
the FARs are maintained and all information is current, complete and accurate. Some minimal
travel may be required in support of these efforts.
After award of a contract, the business manager will establish internal budgets and use earned
value management tools to report contract cost and schedule performance. Experience with Dekker
Trakker EVMS reporting tools preferred. MPM, COBRA or Oracle may be substituted.
The business manager is responsible for generating, reporting and maintaining ancillary
financial data including forecasting sales, cost of sales, and operating income.
MUST HAVE or BE ABLE TO OBTAIN SECRET CLEARANCE
3 to 10 years of financial analysis experience preferably in the defense industry. Must have a
minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
