Job Description:

Summary Develop, integrate and supervise the color development laboratory.  Continuously
search for ways to improve quality of processes and products.  Create and maintain a team
concept among lab personnel.  To support company philosophy and standards and to be personally
involved in continuous improvement.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Develop and organize work schedules.

 

Establish and execute business planning metrics in order to support corporate business plan.

 

Provide technical support to Color Lab Personnel.

 

Directs and advises lab personnel including performance reviews, analyzing and resolving, and
assisting workers in solving problems.

 

Provide technical support for manufacturing.

 

Provide technical support for customers.

 

Provide and execute personnel development plans as required.

 

Manage period expense and capital budgets.

 

Participate in team activities as required.

 

Manage formula development process.

 

Coordinate color development procedures and processes.

 

Manage approval process.

 

Help develop and manage Quality System work instructions and procedures and improve as
needed.

 

Responsible for successful facilitation of all company safety policies and procedures.

 

Responsible for cleanliness of work area.

 

Participate in company training seminars as offered.

 

Attend company meetings as designated.

Preferred Education/Training/Knowledge  

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university in Chemistry or Polymer
Science; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of
education and experience.

 

Material compounding experience

 

Extensive knowledge of resins, additives, pigments and dyes

 

Knowledge of injection molding and extrusion processes, polymers and their stabilization, and
automotive materials specifications

 

Color science knowledge

 

Excellent communication and organizational skills

 

Management experience

 

Ability to work within a flexible schedule

 

 

Computer Skills                                                

Strong computer skills.  Experience with spectrophotometers and color matching software
