Responsibilities include: preparation of correspondence; collating and maintaining client
documents in a secure manner; handling all incoming and outgoing mail; handling incoming and
outgoing telephone calls, e-mails and faxes; scanning documents into firm database; making
arrangements for meetings, conferences, depositions, etc.; filing and maintaining office
records; processing of documents for filing with courts and other governmental entities;
maintaining daily dabase tickler/docket system; creation of new files; greeting visitors;
making appointments and reminders; maintaining office and file security; keeping inventory and
ordering supplies; storing, updating and circulating library materials; proofreading
attorney-generated documents and correspondence.
The position will entail extensive client contact. You will need to maintain a working
knowledge of the attorneys' areas of practice and be familiar with legal terminology and
procedures, exercise discretion, good judgment and require minimal supervision.
Competency with Word, Wordperfect, Time Matters and Timeslips. Prior law office experience
and references required.
