Job Description:
Basic Function of the Job:

I. Job Summary

Provides analytical and strategic support to the Director, Labor Relations for Iron Mountain.
Develops and recommends sound economic and negotiation strategies. Proactively establishes and
maintains satisfactory labor management relations, administers the organizationís labor
relations policy and represents management in labor and employee relations. Represents the
organization in dealings with union officials, government agencies (NLRB) and Department of
Labor. Advises organization of potential labor ramifications based on new programs and
policies. Manages risk assessment process and recommends corrective action based on results.
Trains and directs organization on preventive labor measures.

Essential Job Functions

% A. Analyze compliance and recommend action in support of Company philosophy toward employee
relations:
a. Conduct scheduled and unscheduled wage/benefit analysis
b. Monitor success rate of Incentive Compensation Plans and recommend strategy to educate
employees about programs
c. Design, implement and monitor programs as required to measure employee morale
d. Monitor open door policy transactions
e. Recommend and implement improved exit interview process
f. Act as a consultative resource for Human Resources and management across the organization

% B. Manage pro-active action to maintain union free status:
a. Revise, distribute, collect and analyze preventative labor surveys
b. Ongoing refinement and delivery of Company Preventative Labor Training program to IM
incorporating recent trends and events

% C. Identify programs and methods to track and present statistical data on the following:
a. Employee turnover rates, on-time performance reviews, workerís compensation claims,
employee complaints, employee recognition, employee training programs, employee participation
in benefitís programs.
% D. Maintain compliance of programs and procedures consistent with existing Collective
Bargaining Agreements:
a. Manage gain-sharing and variable pay calculation and distribution to eligible employees
consistent with collective bargaining agreements
b. Maintain all original trust agreements relative to Health & Welfare, Pension, 401k,and
Legal Trusts
% E. Provide labor relations/consultation support:
a. Recommend economic and negotiation strategies to Director, Labor Relations
b. Assist the field in the preparation and presentation of Company position in grievance
hearing
c. Administer mediation and grievance hearings
d. Lead labor contract negotiations as requested
e. Consult with outside legal counsel as required
f. Advises on local and federal laws 
F. Acquisition Support:
a. Perform due diligence and research in support of IM acquisitions
b. Identify root causes of past organizing attempts
c. Research and identify labor trends and activity in the industry and local market
d. Recommend integration strategy to complement local IM employee relations practices
e. Perform comparative analysis on acquired Collective Bargaining Agreements versus Iron
Mountain non-union wages and benefits.

Qualifications Required:

Minimum Educational Requirements: Bachelorís Degree in Related Field. Law Degree a (with a
labor specialty) a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required 

A. 5 + years labor experience with a multi-site, national company to include experience with
the following:
i. Grievance hearings and settlements
ii. Mediation or arbitration hearings and/or settlements
iii. Contract negotiations
B. 3 + years experience as a Human Resource Generalist, in a service organization with a
dominant hourly workforce
C. Strong knowledge of labor laws, collective bargaining agreements and HR laws
D. Demonstrated relationship management skills and the ability to influence people at all
levels of the organization
E. Bi-lingual in Spanish
F. Strong analytical skills
G. Strong written and verbal communication skills
H. Previous experience delivering training preventative labor training programs
I. Adequate proficiency with Microsoft Office/
