Keeping informed with all aspects of New Media relating to current and future projects
including content syndication, optimisation, web linking, broadband and web streaming,
interactive TV programming, On demand and other new technologies to develop Pilots digital
strategy and maximise revenue potential. Responsible for the day to day running of all company
websites including the e-commerce shop. Managing contracts and relationships with hosting
providers and troubleshooting technical problems with hosting companies, software providers
etc. Registering domain names and logging domains owned and renewal dates. Sourcing streaming
media and web hosting services to establish competitive rates and reliable services. Producing
regular statistics relating to all websites and feeding back info to key staff and partners.
Responsible for all editorial of all company websites, maintaining the high quality of all
material as it appears online. Key channel pages on the website will be edited at least once
per month as agreed, including updating the company website and job notice board, products and
offers on the e-commerce shop, new features and competitions. Regularly working with
proof-readers and web software to correct inaccurate material and conduct a regular health
check of all websites. Working with the Sales staff to develop and improve the online shop and
enhance the shopping experience. Ensure they are able to set up and use online order software
and integrate e-commerce solutions. Designing and copy writing the monthly e-newsletter,
mailing out and maintaining the newsletter database including bounce back emails and opt outs.
Providing a monthly numeric log of subscribers to the manager of the company database for
marketing purposes. Keeping informed with developments relating to travel and new media e.g.
assessing competitors websites, newly launched products and services. Overseeing online
marketing projects including guerrilla marketing, web links, online competitions, links with
online retailers, online PR. Working with other members of staff where appropriate to delegate
projects. Optimising pages for search engines, overseeing search engine marketing and
submissions to progressively improve rankings. Maintaining affiliate contracts and
relationships, develop affiliate content, follow up any payments and work actively to increase
affiliate revenues. Manage advertising contracts and relationships to ensure financial
accountability. Implement and developing new community and interactive technologies e.g.
message boards, competitions and web forms, readers contributions, web polls etc. to enhance
user experience and interactivity. Produce data in a format which can integrate into our
database. Delegating the responsibility of moderating message boards, chat rooms etc. and
ensuring the moderator knows how and when to moderate messages. Developing streaming media
content and researching options for subscriptions, e.g. developing in house web streams,
audio/radio streams or outsourcing video encoding and hosting where necessary. Maintaining and
developing new content partnerships, especially relating to streaming media subscriptions.
Commissioning web design e.g. graphics, microsites, online databases or add-ons to the
existing website template. Taking responsibility for the final look and feel, navigation and
usability etc. of all design produced. Carrying out consumer usability surveys where
appropriate. Working with the Marketing and Sales executives and C.E.O to develop new projects
relating to new media, especially e-commerce.
