Job Description:
The corporate engineering department is currently looking to add a Sr Engineer to it's team of
talented professionals.  The individual works independently to assist in the design and/or
project management of meter sets, regulator stations, pressure improvements, pipeline
relocations, DOT/Municpal highway projects and projects for AGLC’s Pipeline Replacement
Program for cast iron and bare steel main. This position is typically assigned moderately
complex tasks on these projects. .


Representative Duties and Responsibilities:

•     Develops plans and technical requirements for projects.

•     Documents technical specifications and requirements.

•     Researches and evaluates operational performance, safety regulation compliance and cost
impact of equipment and material utilization for gas systems.

•     Prepares or assists in preparing reports, proposals, graphs, planning layouts and
summaries designed to communicate project plans, progress or results.

•     Understanding and interpretation of gas related codes such as DOT CFR 49 Part  192 and
its application to design tasks.

•     Anticipates and identifies obstacles/issues that put project at risk; implements
corrective action.

•     Serves as liaison and engineering resource on projects; responds to questions, provide
engineering expertise.

•     Maintains working knowledge of relevant technologies and best practices. Ensure
engineering standards, methods and practices are in regulatory compliance.

•     Develops design options or recommendations to improve system optimization.

•     Prepares or assists in preparing reports, proposals, graphs, planning layouts and
summaries designed to communicate project plans, progress or results.


Education and Experience:


•  BA/BS in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Civil)

•  2 -3 years of progressive Engineering experience




•  Project Management

•  Ability to communicate with all levels in the organization

•  Ability to influence and persuade in decision making.

•  CAD/GIS - intermediate proficiency

•  MS Office - advanced proficiency



EIT Certificate Strongly Preferred.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Position typically works in an office environment

Local weekly travel

Occasional overnight travel

Keyboarding required in approx 40% - 60% of daily tasks
