The role of an Earnings Analyst includes the manual review of forecast estimates sent from
contributing analysts to Thomson Financial. The analyst verifies each revision prior to entry
into product to ensure its accuracy and timeliness. The analyst scrutinizes each new estimate
to determine accounting basis comparability with that of the mean estimate. Where necessary,
the analyst will contact contributing brokers directly to clarify accounting basis of a
recently submitted estimate revision. Estimates on an alternate basis are footnoted on
product, and filtered from the mean calculation. The Earnings Analyst specializes in a set of
industries and is responsible for identifying trends and establishing standards. The analyst
plays a critical role in the formulation of definitions for new data items and with the
expansion of the data collection for Key Performance Indicators that are relevant to that set
of industries. 

 Ideal candidates will have 2 or more years of experience in the Financial Industry 
 Required skills include working knowledge of Microsoft Office 
 Must have a degree in one of the following studies; Finance, Accounting, or Economics 
 Knowledge of financial markets 
 Ability to work in a team environment 
 A close attention to detail 
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
 Confidence in speaking directly with external clients
