manufactured at both US and international facilities; Germany, England, Japan, Thailand and
Canada. 
 
The opportunity:
 
We are seeking a dynamic sales professional who has the capability to sell engineered metals
into a fast paced, demanding market segment; the electronics industry.  As Regional Sales
Manager, you will have full authority of the day to day sales operations of our eastern region
which will comprise all states east of the Mississippi.  Travel is anticipated to be approx.
30% and a company car will be provided.  
 
This is a direct sales role and you will be required to develop and execute effective sales
strategies, simultaneous to meeting business goals and objectives to achieve continued
business growth.  You will service existing customers and cultivate new business and new
customers.  Associated responsibilities will include the monitoring of competitor activity,
evaluation of market trends/opportunities, contract negotiations, forecasting, generation of
reports and budget management.  This is a technical position involving a product line of high
purity Ta, Mo, W and Nb. In this region, materials are sold to manufacturers of sputtering
targets for physical vapor deposition applications; predominantly semiconductor.  In addition,
materials are sold to customers requiring thermal and power management (power semiconductors
and HBLED's) You will also be pivotal to the team in gaining entry to a new market this year
which has excellent long term growth potential for the region. 
 
Requirements:
 
In order to succeed in this challenging role, you should possess a BS degree in an engineering
or physical science discipline, combined with a successful sales career selling engineered
materials for electronic applications.  It would be an advantage to possess some manufacturing
experience to effectively understand manufacturing technology, cost structures, production
capability etc.  Strong preference will be given to candidates who have sold high value
materials or equipment that have directly supported the manufacturing of semiconductors. A
general understanding of sputtering targets will be expected.  
 
You should be self motivated and possess a tenacious work ethic.  You must have a  personal
track record of being successful with direct account management i.e. meeting your revenue
targets as well as a history of personal initiatives that contributed to the growth of a
region, territory or market.  In addition to knowing how to build solid relationships with
customers, it is essential you are able to work effectively with internal colleagues who work
at multiple H.C. Starck Inc. sites, especially those at our Massachusetts location. (approx. 8
miles west of Boston)  For maximum synergy with these employees, you should reside within a
reasonable commuting distance of this location, or be willing to relocate.  We encourage

This is a highly interactive role, and you must be professional in both appearance and
behavior.  You should be a team player and have superior communication skills..  Proficiency
with standard office software will be required, i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
