PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Graphic Designer is responsible for the design and production of Oxfam America print
publications and electronic/interactive products (websites, banner ads, etc.) The Graphic
Designer will work within an existing brand identity, and continue to apply and expand the
brand as appropriate and guided by Senior Designer.
1.Design and produce a variety of Oxfam America print and interactive materials from concept
to delivery, including — but not limited to — magazine, project updates, campaign postcards,
research reports, brochures, information packets, annual report, cards, websites, banner ads,
interactive animations, and other promotional materials. Also responsible for development and
production of existing designs.
2.Work independently on some projects and with the Senior Graphic Designer on others.
3.Work with Creative Services team and individuals from other departments to develop
publications and interactive content within specified timeframes.
4.Work with printers and manage production of some projects. Attend press-checks as required
5.Become an expert on the Oxfam America brand, applying it to all projects, and expanding it
with guidance from Senior Graphic Designer.
6.Engage in brainstorming sessions with the Creative Services unit.

B.A. in related field or equivalent experience
Experience and Core Competencies:
1.1-3 years of graphic design experience Experience in both print and interactive media.
2.Fluency with Quark Xpress, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, and Macintosh
operating system. Experience with Flash.
3.Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
4.Ability to multi-task, prioritize, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects.
5.Ability to work on a team of creative individuals (writers and designers) to service client
needs and see projects through to fruition.
1.Understanding of print-production process and ability to work with printers through
production a plus. Must be capable of learning these skills.
2.Understanding of Adobe InDesign.
3.Expertise/advanced knowledge with Office as a design tool.
