Job Description:
We are seeking a Front Desk Manager who is organized and energetic.  The ideal candidate will
have hotel related experience, strong organizational and communication skills.  


Major Responsibilities

* Assist in attracting, hiring, developing and retaining employees including interviewing,
training, recognition, counseling, and regular performance evaluation

* Ensure guest safety through awareness of and adherence to all emergency procedures 

* Direct and train front desk staff to exceed guest expectations

* Review arrivals and check that all VIPs and special requests have been pre-blocked

* Conduct daily meetings

* Attend weekly staff meetings and monthly meetings

* Ensure communication of priorities to staff through relaying all pertinent information from
weekly meetings to appropriate staff

* Maintain open lines of communication with all other departments

* Create weekly schedules

* Monitor payroll and productivity and implement actions to ensure goal achievement

* Perform preventative maintenance with troubleshooting guides and backup necessary systems
through proficiency with all relevant computer systems

* Maintain procedures for ensuring staff shift closing are correct and all transactions

* Manage strict room inventory to achieve highest possible room occupancy percentage

* Manage guest accounts to ensure correct rates are being applied, appropriate rate
authorization is obtained where necessary, and a method of payment is being received

* Review incoming groups to ensure all blocking needs and front office requirements are met
and relay information to appropriate staff

* Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of all work space and storage areas


Ideal Experience and Personal Profile

* At least one year of hotel front office supervisory experience 

* Strong customer relations skills and leadership capability 

* Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills 

* Detail oriented with good organizational skills. 

* Proficient computer user, previous experience with reservation system preferred

* Ability to interpret statistical reports and financial information

* Ability to make quick decisions, problem solve to achieve guest satisfaction while ensuring
compliance with policy and financial standards.

* High School or equivalent education, and an Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred
