The Arc of the Farmington Valley is a non-profit agency that supports persons with mental
retardation/developmental disabilities in the Farmington Valley. The Assistant Manager is
responsible for supporting the manager with the daily operation of the independent living
program. The independent living program supports 11 persons in varied living situations (both
CLA and SLA) along with their 11 staff. Daily operation includes implementing procedures and
individual programs that will enhance opportunities for residential participants to reach the
highest level of independence. Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in
writing. Some functions of the position include but are not limited to: recreation, leisure,
transportation, ADL support, program management and medical oversight for participants. Staff
supervision with manager's support including on the floor training and upholding all state and
federal licensing regulations.
Candidates for the Co-opís Assistant Manager position should be excellent advocates for
participants, flexible, patient, self starters and a have a desire to learn more about
management in the field. A good sense of humor is a must.
