REPORTS TO: Vice President and local Site Manager.
SUMMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Individual supports development and executes direction on product
and business strategy, operational execution of engineering design and development of
IF/RF/Microwave and Millimeter Wave products including software development, and analog and
digital control at frequencies ranging to 40 GHz.
Candidate must be a self-starter and manage all details associated with carrying out the
execution of product introduction and development process, transition to production, and new
business development working within local site assignment, across microwave solution sites and
with sales & marketing.

PURPOSE: Improve Companies Engineering Management, Execution and Technology Base
Achieve excellence in engineering management and execution by:
1. Meeting design to cost, delivery and performance to customer specifications and
expectations to contractual requirements for design of microwave products,
2. Meeting transfer to production expectations and plans,
3. Developing and successfully implementing technology roadmap.
4. Developing and successfully executing internal research, development and investment
5. Achieving product and program business growth by executing bids and proposals and
developing market opportunities working with sales, marketing and internal functions.
6. Advancing the companies technology and innovation for integrated sub-systems.
7. Leading and achieving significant improvements in operational excellence and lean
implementation in engineering.
EDUCATION: BSEE-MSEE / MBA strongly desired
WORK EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS:
1. Minimum 12 years engineering experience in defense product development environment.
2. Leadership background in the area of state-of-the-art IF/RF/Microwave and Millimeter
Wave product design
3. Previous experience as senior member of a Staff/Business Management team
4. Subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements
and be capable of receiving a security clearance for access to classified information.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Engineering Management & Execution
§ Integral staff member of the site and solution management team in developing both
short and long term business strategies and execution of strategies.
§ Execute implementation of NPI (New Product Introduction) Process by conducting
design reviews and coordinating the development and manufacture of prototype product.
§ Selecting, training, mentoring, and motivating the technical resources required to
secure new business opportunities, develop IR&D projects, drive technical advancements that
will meet customer requirements and business objectives.
§ Drives technical innovation by bringing new technology into the company directly or
hiring the appropriate technology competencies
§ Responsible for development, planning, implementation, and meeting key performance
objectives of all engineering projects including the development of technical proposals,
budgets and design approaches in support of new business quoting activities, sales force,
customer visits, product presentations, representative training, and developing winning
§ Acts as the chief technical liaison between other division business centers and
other corporate wide operations
§ Communicate, both written and verbal, complex technical issues to a variety of
§ Identifying and promoting alternative manufacturing practices to improve product
manufacturability, performance, cost and quality.
§ Ensure the integration of software, hardware, reliability, maintainability, safety,
survivability, human factors and other requirements in the total engineering effort
DEMONSTRATED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR KNOWLEDGE OF:
· Design, evaluation & testing, specification development, and troubleshooting of:
§ RF/Microwave Receivers/Transceivers, and digital receiver technology
§ A/Ds and D/As, DSP controller, memory, etc.;
§ Detector Log and Successive Detection Log amplifier (DLVA and SDLVA) design and
§ Switch matrix systems including microprocessor control and software;
§ Low noise crystal oscillators including VCXO, OCXO, TCXO, and direct digital
§ Low noise amplifiers, oscillators, power amplifiers, mixers, switches, attenuators,
phase locked loops, and filters
§ CAE simulation/analysis and schematic generation using tools such as Eagleware
Genesys, Touchstone, Spice, Super Compact, Libra, etc.
§ CAD systems such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, and PADS familiarity
o Packaging and integration technologies such as HMIC/MMIC, CSP, HTCC, MCMs,
SMT/through-hole, PWB/PCB design, electromechanical packaging and shielding with RFI/EMI
o Technical writing and testing procedures
