Reporting Relationship 


Director of Product Management



Brontes is looking for a smart, energetic CAD/CAM specialist/engineer to develop a process to
improve and modify 3D scans, and implement image post-processing steps for data sets acquired
from a first-of-its-kind 3D scanning device.


Specifically, the 3D Post-Processing Specialist will generate CAD models from 3D scanned
anatomical data sets, then use rapid prototyping equipment to create physical models in a mass
customization environment. The scan data … 


Areas of focus include 3D Modeling and Printing of medical data sets:




Participate in the development and deployment of a 3D image processing protocol to be used
in-house during early Beta test phase
Point cloud manipulation and utilization of 3D Surfacing tools to create models
Manipulate data sets for use by practitioners, and for importing into 3D rapid prototyping
Digitally construct complex medical restorations from 3D scan data
Modeling of digitized anatomical data
Analyze graphical information describing the relationship between the original point cloud and
the resultant surface created
Develop automation for processing models quickly with minimal human interaction


Creation of 3D models from scanned data sets, using Rapid Prototyping equipment, both SLA and
Wax printers
Develop QC protocols and inspection procedures to ensure accuracy and repeatability with very
close tolerances and critical dimensions
Specify and purchase raw materials, and proper finishing tools
Identify opportunities for cost reductions and throughput optimizations

The ideal candidate will be able to perform all these multiple activities, and in the process
be creating definition of new roles and responsibilities for future expansion of the company.



Required Qualifications


Ambition to be a part of a fast-paced, high growth medical imaging start-up
Ability to take on multiple projects at once, and eagerness to learn and grow professionally
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Design, Manufacturing, Computer Science, or
related field
Experience with CAD/CAM software or 3D graphics – minimum 2-3 years

Preferred Qualifications


Experience with SLA, Wax printers or other rapid prototyping equipment
Experience in a medical device environment
Familiarity with 3D scanning technologies




Compensation for this position will be competitive for the industry and will include an equity
