Job Description:
We are seeking a Plant Controller/Sr. Accountant for a client in the City of Garden Grove, CA.
Our client is the global leader in the design, engineering and manufacturing of quality visual
identification products. 

 

This is a direct-hire/permanent position paying $60,000 - $65,000 a year and is available
immediately.

 

Candidates must: 

Have at least 4 years experience as a plant accountant/controller or cost accounting
experience in a manufacturing plant. 
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access 
Possess sound understanding of the manufacturing and distribution process to assure the
accounting systems are reporting and controlling what is actually happening on the production
floor. 
Strong Managerial/Cost Accounting Background (Inventory Costing, Capacity Analysis, Cost
Allocation, etc) 
Establish and/or maintain required systems and procedures, which monitor the effectiveness of
plant operations. Perform audit function to assure policies are being followed; make
recommendations for improvements and assist in implementing improvements or required changes.

Establish budgeting process and procedures for all functions. 
Coordinate development of department budgets with the appropriate managers. 
Provide supplementary data (volumes, head count, labor hours, utility costs, etc) to support
budget preparation; consolidate all budgeting to provide detail and analysis as required by
Operations and management. 
Develop other budgeting information as required, including material loss/scrap, inventory,
obsolescence. 
Develop key performance measurements for the plant and establish tracking systems to assure
each area is achieving its objectives. 
Develop and maintain systems associated with product costing including work center
identification, material costs, labor hours by product, overhead allocation module, and in
general, insure that timely and accurate costs are established for all manufactured products.

Maintain and enforce all accounting procedures related to Operations including G/L
maintenance, accruals, expense charge-off, journal entry preparation, A/P and payroll
processing, capital equipment authorization and inventory control. 
Reconcile plant inventory accounts. 
Prepare and analyze all financial reports. 
Manage and support plant information technology and systems.
