Job Description:
Proudfoot, a leading international management consulting firm, seeks an Energy Efficiency
Specialist to head business review and business delivery.  The ideal candidate will be the
subject matter expert conducting comprehensive reviews of our clients’ net energy consumption
(with or without associated capital expenditure investment).  He she will then determine the
scope, nature, and extent of potential applications of Proudfoot methodology.

 

The Energy Efficiency Specialist will use proven tools and techniques to conduct studies and
assessments, interviews and statistical analyses of telecom processes and procedures to:

 

·        Keep up to date with market developments with respect to the efficient use of energy

·        Develop, refine, and maintain current methodology tools and techniques, and using
these, conduct studies and assessments, interviews and statistical analysis of the processes
and procedures of prospective client’s energy systems including:

Ø      Conducting energy health checks, cost reduction, and benefit realization opportunity
analysis

Ø      Creating opportunities to improve operational energy efficiency through reduction,
conservation, re-use or replacement of energy, taking into account both client and regulatory
requirements in areas such as carbon emissions reduction

Ø      Reviewing all energy vendor relationships to identify opportunities to deliver cost
effective and up to date services to the client organization

Ø      Reviewing energy bills to ensure corporate standards for cost effectiveness and proper
usage is being met by users

Ø      Identifying and quantify opportunities for enhancement to the client organization’s
energy management activity including skills and training-related opportunities

Ø      Seeking and identifying the root causes of operation and organizational difficulties,
barriers, and change hurdles, taking into account current and anticipated regulatory and policy
requirements

Ø      Identifying and summarizing the scope for energy savings and efficiency improvement

Ø      Identify the cost of capital investments required to attain energy savings beyond those
achievable without investment

Ø      Conducting the energy management Business Review and analysis while obtaining the active
involvement and support of all client staff and ensuring that all professional disciplines and
courtesies are respected

Ø      Participating in the Business Review and write-up and contribute to the development of
the client presentation.

Ø      Using and update the Business Review and Business Delivery toolbox

Ø      Researching and recommending energy management best practices, including the use of
energy alliance partners

Ø      Installing benefits by implementing approved changes to the client’s operation as part
of the project in areas 

Ø      Maintaining subject matter expertise through relevant industry associations and self
learning

Ø      Maintaining current awareness of opportunities in energy management, replacement and
conservation and application of opportunities across industries

 

 

 

The position requires extensive travel, college degree, and 7 years of experience in energy
efficiency internal or external consulting role.
