Job Description:
The Senior Writer/Editor of the Brandeis Review leads and maintains the Office of
Communications' brand marketing and communications efforts through editorial brand message
creation, dissemination and message management. The senior writer is responsible for the
creation of influential, creative and targeted written communication. The Senior Writer will
work closely with the Senior Vice President (SVP) and he/she will oversee a staff of writers,
internal and external to the department. The senior writer will work with the Director of
Communications to determine workflow and production schedules, and make determinations
regarding the use of departmental resources, outside vendors and outsourcing. As editor of the
Brandeis Review, the senior writer is responsible for working with the SVP and others in
directing the editorial content and producing the Review. Requirements for this position
include: a Bachelor's degree, 5-8 years of work related experience, 3-5 years of management
experience. Must have excellent writing skills, an understanding of print production, requires
good interpersonal and communication skills, humor and creativity essential, team player
required.
