Stark Investments and its affiliated group of companies encompass investment management and
securities trading activities around the world.  Based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with
additional offices in Chicago, New York, San Francisco, London, Hong Kong, and Toronto, Stark
Investments currently employs approximately 245 people.  The Firm provides administrative and
investment management services to a family of private investment vehicles with assets in
excess of $8.5 billion (USD). 


Stark Investments is comprised of a family of multi-strategy funds that will also encompass
real estate, structured finance and private equity.  These funds use a variety of investment
strategies in order to achieve attractive and non-volatile risk adjusted returns.  Among the
strategies employed are convertible arbitrage, risk arbitrage and event driven trading,
quantitative long/short, fixed income trading, distressed investments and investing in private
placement transactions. 


Stark Investments has been at the forefront in developing and applying financial theory, along
with information and communication technology, to trading derivatives and equity securities. 
The dedicated team of financial engineers, software developers, and traders develop
proprietary, real-time valuation and risk management systems to price and trade derivatives
and equity securities for the funds.  


The Stark Investments Structured Finance group is currently seeking a Real Estate Analyst to
join its team in Milwaukee. This group is engaged in originating and structuring various types
of institutional lending products across several sectors. 


§           Conduct analysis and due diligence on all potential real estate transactions,
identify the weaknesses and associated risks of the transaction and discuss the deal with the
portfolio management group.

§           Perform issuer capital structure, cash flow and credit analysis to support the
team’s evaluation of prospective business opportunities. 

§           Analyze and propose deal structure(s), negotiate draft term sheet(s) and
participate in the documentation of related legal agreements.

§           Perform financial and cash flow modeling in conjunction with available appraisal
reports and other evaluation materials.

§           Responsible for providing real estate research information on targeted markets,
analyzing property trends within the context of a local and/or regional market and conducting
macro level real estate related research.

§           Develop a database for Real Estate Transactions (i.e. tracking status of current
deals, maintain details on past deals and track status of dormant (but unclosed) deals at a

§           Develop a deal tracking log which incorporates all transactions that are in
process from third party developers.

§           Complete executive summaries for transactions.

§           Complete transaction turn down sheets, incorporating key information for future

§           Monitoring of Public Homebuilder Credits; participation on analyst calls; tracking
of developments with respect to credits; analysis of macro economic trends and land and
homebuilding markets. Creation and maintenance of credit tracking spreadsheet.

§           Attend various industry conferences to enhance the Fund’s reach and monitor
industry trends and developments.


§           Candidates must have an undergraduate degree in real estate, finance, accounting,
economics and/or a related area 

§           3-5 years experience as a Real Estate Analyst

§           This person will demonstrate an understanding of cash flow characteristics of
commercial real estate deals and successfully articulate them to the Structured Finance team 

§           Experience using third parties for local information

§           Ability to manage several projects at once and must be comfortable working both on
individual basis with little supervision or as part of a team 

§           Must have strong analytical and organizational skills 

§           Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills required

§           Attention to detail, assertiveness, initiative, integrity, leadership, maturity
and a strong work ethic will be critical to success

§           Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel and Excel-based discounted cash flow

§           Ability to read, understand legal documents is preferred
