Omron is looking for a Technical Trainer in Schaumburg, Illinois to provide
application/integration related technical training for Omron sales and support staff, channel
partners, and customers.

Schedule, plan, organize and implement various training classes including Distributor Field
Application Engineer Training, Technical Sales Training, Omron Field Application Engineer
Training, Self Paced Training, and Instructor Led Training
Conduct new product training for sales and support staff. Provide product training for channel
partner personnel both in office and on-site.
Assist in the development of standard and custom training course materials, working with
subject matter experts to support product training requirements.
Build, organize, and repair training demo equipment.
Act as liaison and coordinate efforts between Omron Field Sales personnel and customers
regarding product-training matters.
Education: Bachelorís degree (B. A.) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Education,
or a related field from a four year college or technical school.
Experience: Five to ten years of related experience and/or training in a closely related
technical field or industry, providing support services and/or technical training to
engineers, sales, and customers. Experience in instructing, developing course objectives and
materials, and designing training programs is required. Experience using various types of
electronic and web based media and tools for developing and delivering training courses is
also highly desirable.
Technical Abilities: Ability to translate customer training requirements into course outlines
and objectives is required. Development and delivery of detailed course material using various
types of media is necessary. Demonstrated technical skills in a related product area (such as
programmable controllers, sensors, operator interfaces, timers, counters, servo motors and
drives, safety, etc.) required. Experience with Microsoft Office 2003, especially Power Point,
is also required. Experience with Lotus Notes is desirable.
Profile: The successful candidate must be a self-starter, work independently or as a team
member and be able to share detailed technical information in an easy to understand manner.
Ability to establish rapport and work in a consultative manner with customers is important.
Travel Requirement: This job requires 10-40% travel.
