This position is based in Woburn, Massachusetts, but will require customer contact and
approximately 20% world-wide travel.

 

The successful candidate will strategically manage one of CRi’s compelling multi-spectral
imaging product lines.  The candidate will define product strategy, future product
requirements, and product positioning.

 

Responsibilities include:

Defining product strategy based on market trends, market analysis, and customer needs.
Developing and maintaining the business case for the product line, including forecasting and
managing world-wide pricing, product demand forecasting, and revenue, margin, and market share
analysis.
Continuous analysis of market trends, customer requirements, and competitive strategy,
including identification of opportunities for increasing customer value through
differentiation.
Identifying and supporting strategic partnerships
Developing product launch and distribution strategies
Contributing to fiscal planning and budgeting for future positioning, growth, and evolution of
the product line.
 

The candidate will be the internal and external champion for the product line.  As such, the
successful candidate must be able to effectively evangelize to the industry (forums,
customers, thought leaders), as well as coordinate with CRi product and application
development teams to ensure the development of accurate product requirements and timely
delivery of product that effectively address market needs.  The candidate will also coordinate
closely with CRi marketing and sales teams for the effective launch and on going representation
of the product.  Included is the development of promotional and sales collateral and frequent
interface with customers to ensure understanding of customer needs, satisfaction, and product
acceptance.  

 

The successful candidate will require strong communication (verbal, written, presentation) and
organization skills, who excels at working in a highly technical environment, and who is an
effective leader and influencer in a dynamic matrix environment.  Demonstration of the ability
to drive and balance complex projects is essential. Creativity to strategically view the big
picture, but disciplined to execute on the details is important.  Ability to assimilate many
points of view, and flexibility to emphasize practical solutions is also needed.  High
integrity and team spirit are core characteristics of CRi.

 

This position requires a candidate with at least 6 years of proven, successful experience in
the life science instrument industry, specifically associated with imaging instruments; and at
least 3 years in product management or strategic marketing.  A Bachelor of Science degree in a
life science or related technical discipline is required, or an MBA with applicable work
experience in the life science instrument industry.
