Serve as the firm-wide subject matter expert regarding desktop versioning and desktop
management. Provide recommendations to management regarding processes/products necessary to
increase productivity and efficiency. Assist in the development, maintenance and
implementation of firm standard desktop images. Create, test and implement tools used for
deploying standard desktop images on different firm-wide hardware platforms (desktop,
notebook, workstations, etc.). Assist Network Engineers in creating a seamless network
computing environment with a standard desktop presentation for The Firmís local and remote
(dial-up and broadband) network user community. Provide support to Network Engineers for file
server and network software maintenance. Provide desktop engineering and related assistance to
clients, co-counsel and off-site trial sites as required. Work with state-of-the-art desktop
operating system(s), The Firmís standard applications and directory-based management tools to
install, configure, update and remove applications remotely. Provide leadership and mentoring
for Technical/Desktop Support including assistance with complex problem resolution and training
on standard desktop functionality. Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge of desktop hardware and
software capabilities, anti-virus solutions, and functionality through direct contact with
manufacturers, developers, and vendors. Evaluate and recommend notebook (laptop) and
workstation hardware platforms for use by The Firmís attorneys, secretaries and staff. Assist
in planning of new software and hardware rollouts. Isolate and repair recurring desktop issues
through consultations with Technical/Desktop support, the Network Group and the IT Manager.
Prototype and demonstrate The Firmís standard desktop configurations and desktop management
tools in test lab environment. Provide weekend and after hours pager support as required.
Assist Network Support by providing prompt response and solutions to network calls.
