You must be a good team player and able to recognize the skills of a diverse group of
individuals. You will be a scientist, but most of your colleagues will not be, so you must
work well in that environment. You will have your own projects and be expected to make them
happen (with support of course!). You will be critiquing your colleague’s work, and they will
be critiquing yours.
Rarely will your projects follow the original plan, so you need to be an expert at project
planning and management and at juggling many tasks. Your projects may disappear for weeks on
end and then return from the clients or authors for urgent action, so you need to manage a
tough workload from time to time and be prepared to pitch in to help your colleagues with
You will become part of an excellent team of project managers and external partners including
writers, designers and printers who will be integral to you getting your projects completed.
You will interact with clients, external opinion leaders, freelance writers, medical
associations and publishers. We would look to you to pick up projects in progress, and develop
your own with our clients.
