Position Summary:

This position is dedicated to Commercial IT projects focusing on project management of
technology projects including in-house and outsourced projects, and as required, sub-teams,
and new projects introductions. This position sits within the IT department, and reports to
the Director of Commercial IT.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The project Manager is responsible for overall business analysis as well as project management
of various projects in Commercial (Sales and Marketing) area. He/she may also support sub
teams, Launch teams, New Product Introductions and major cross-functional projects in the
business area. He/she may also support IT department management by leading department projects
and assuming additional responsibilities. He/she will align the goals, objectives, and
priorities with those of the department and customer organization, communicate and actively
support Management team vision, assess current and potential systems and processes
effectiveness, and apply innovative and effective solutions. The ideal candidate must be able
to identify and independently manage priorities and task assignments across multiple projects
and groups, act as catalyst and primary contact for customer teams, and present project
status, plans, issues and recommendations to senior management. He/she will provide training
and coaching to department and teams on project management and technology processes align
resources across functional areas to achieve goals, and develop strong partnerships with key
customers and stakeholders. He/she will also ensure that sound decision-making principles and
agreements are followed, develop team goals, reviews and provides input on deliverables and
recommendations, and ensures methods; tools and techniques are utilized correctly in order to
maximize benefits.


At least a BA/BS in a scientific, technical or engineering discipline is required, with at
least 5-7 years experience in IT project management, preferably in healthcare/ biotech/
pharmaceutical industry. The ideal candidate must have experience in business analysis, system
implementations including commercial applications. Familiarity with Pharmaceutical sales data
and experience in managing outsourced projects are highly desirable. Strong quality
orientation with attention to detail, ability to draw out real requirements from business
needs, and a strong desire to deliver service excellence are necessary for this position. The
ideal candidate must work well in a collaborative team environment and communicate effectively
with all levels of the organization. He/she must have the ability to create and manage work
plans and timelines and accommodate multiple priorities. Strong knowledge of Pharmaceutical
processes, familiarity with new and standard technologies relevant to the area, strong
influence and interpersonal skills, the ability to work well with others in a proactive,
positive and constructive manner, and demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication
skills are required. PMP certification is a plus.
