Job Description:

Title:               Customer Service Representative

Reports to:     Supervisor/Manager

Function: Under the supervision of the Supervisor and the Department Manager, provides member
contact and support.  Performs a variety of teller and related functions to provide member
services in conformance with established policies and operating procedures.  Daily
responsibilities of cash transactions, share deposits/withdrawals, member inquiries, loan
payments, IRA’s, Certificates of Deposits and consumer loan origination, processing, and
servicing.  Handles all transactions with discretion and confidentiality.  


1.                  Organize and set up work station for daily activity, i.e., obtains
necessary forms and supplies for individual work station, orders cash as needed; 

2.                  Processes a variety of savings and related transactions, i.e. receiving
deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, mortgage payments; 

3.                  Provide share and loan rates, account balances, check clearings, deposits
and auto value information; 

4.                  Receiving and disbursing currency to members.  Accountable to transfer to
and from cash vault and day end balancing of cash draw without exception; 

5.                  Processes mail assignments as assigned; 

6.                  Handles all transactions with discretion and confidentiality; 

7.                  Provides direction and assistance to members; actively cross-sells all
available Credit Union services while explaining features and benefits; 

8.                  Process wire transfers, stop payments, orders NOW checks, ATM and debit

9.                  Opens new accounts and provides members with share, loan and account

10.              Opens and services IRA’s, Certificates of Deposits, payroll distribution
requests, file maintenance and updating of member information;

11.              Interviews members for loan application and performs the initial underwriting

12.              Pulls credit report and other pertinent information and reviews questionable
matters with members; 

13.              Processes consumer loan through completion of note and disbursement of check;

14.              Assist members with statement inquiries, research and resolution of errors. 


One to two years in banking and/or credit union, preferably in member support/lending
functions.  Ability to communicate product knowledge and loan calculations/information by
having a thorough understanding of products and policies.  High school Diploma, PC literate
and the ability to use business equipment.
