The Marketing Manager we seek will be responsible for marketing plans within a variety of
disciplines, serving as the “subject matter expert”, developing and executing strategic
marketing plans across all channels with the objective of driving sales of the titles on those
· Primary initiator of research, development, and implementation of new marketing initiatives.
Develop marketing plans including budget projections and implement strategies including
management of activities within budget requirements. Drive the sale of lists’ products through
a variety of channels including, but not limited to, direct mail, internet, sales
presentations, wholesalers, corporate sales, library sales, community sales, and working with
both inside and outside sales reps.
· Develop/maintain an expert knowledge of specific disciplines and titles within these
disciplines, as well as an awareness of who the competition is and what the competition’s
strengths and weaknesses are.
· Work with designers and editors to create collateral materials with concise brand messages
in support of overall campaigns.
· Provide sales support/tools and work with the sales reps to develop strategies in order to
drive sales within their disciplines in the academic/educational/training market.
Bachelor’s Degree with 3-5 years publishing marketing experience, including demonstrated
ability to implement full marketing strategy. Previous exposure to textbook publishing in
either sales, editorial or marketing role advanatageous. Possess strong writing and verbal
communication skills. Marketing budget management experience. Previous sales experience or
understanding of the sales process.
Proficiency with computers and computer applications such as Word, Excel, and the Internet.
