Shawmut Corporation manufactures engineered multi-layer flexible maerials for automotive,
military, medical and industrial applications. The company is a recognized leader in its
markets with a strong technology portfolio, a flexible manufacturing platform and a new

Shawmut is seeking a talented and highly motivated individual with strong leadership skills to
direct our Program Management Department. This individual will be responsible to ensure that
new programs are tried, evaluated and implemented in a satisfactory fashion and in accordance
with Shawmut's Advanced Product Quality Planning.
This includes: Sample coordination between sales, engineering and production.
Execute sample requests coming from slaes departments: ensure all product and program
information is complete (specs, etc.) have engineering design products as needed, follow-up on
material delivery for sample run, follow-up on results of sample run, keep sample log.
Coordinate developmental efforts with engineering on technical products requesting significant
development effort, follow-up with engineering on development progress. Keep sales department
updated as necessary.
Participate in Quoting Process: Provide input to sales organization about keky cosst
parameters, taking into account results of sample runs and feedback from engineering.
New Program Launch Management (APQP)
Ensure capacity: Before a program starts ensure with Engineering that we have the equipment to
run the program and with the Plant Mgr that we have capacity. APQP- Ensure all new programs are
emploements in accordanc with Shawmuts APQP procedures. Including - Integration of feedback
from customer (via sales), finalization of special characteristics, review of FMEA's and
Control Plans, review actions to reduce potential failure modes with high risk priority,
review capability analysis.
Contract Review: At every key stage of the APQP process perform a contract review to make sure
that all customer requirements and specifications are properly captured in our APQP
documentation and that actions are in place to ensure our capability to meet customer
Qualified candidates will have at least a BS in engineering with 5 to 10 years previous
experience in advanced materials manufacturing or another process intensive environment.
Candidates must have a clear track record of success, excellent problem solving skills, and a
strong 6 sigma and FMEA tool kit. The canidate will also possess demonstrated leadership,
teamwork and excellent communication skills.
