The Boston Medical Center CareNet Plan is a special program for people who do not have health
insurance and have been approved for Free Care at Boston Medical Center. The program is
designed to encourage primary care relationships and keep members healthy by promoting
regular, routine check-ups at health centers in their own neighborhoods. CareNet has also been
successful in attracting grant funding to develop innovative and collaborative approaches to
quality improvement, disease management and process improvement for specialty referrals.
Under the direction of the Director of CareNet, the Manager of CareNet is responsible for:
•Overseeing CareNet Representatives, ensuring excellent service through, orientation, ongoing
training and setting of professional standards.
•Contributing to the design and production of reports for health centers and clinics.
•Assisting in the preparation of grant applications and grant writing.
•Resolving financial issues regarding Free Care status and/or member’s bills.
•Contributing ideas and suggestions to the CareNet team to consistently improve member
5-7 years in a healthcare or managed care environment and 1-2 years in a supervisory role is
required. Experience in grant writing highly desirable. Must be proficient in Excel and Word
with great communication skills. Must have valid driver's license, car and be willing to
travel up to 50%.
