Job Description:
Scientist, Analytical Chemistry

Transform Pharmaceuticals Inc. (TPI) is currently looking for an enthusiastic, skilled
analytical chemist to play a lead role in developing analytical techniques for TPI’s new drug
formulations. We are looking for someone with experience in analytical methods development in a
pharmaceutical development environment who also has a drive to understand the underlying
chemical mechanisms. This is an exciting leadership opportunity to join a growing team within a
dynamic company and play a key role in the research and development of new and improved drug
formulations.

Responsibilities:
• Lead and build a team in methods development; 
• Work with Pharmaceutical Development CMC and project leaders to define and lead the
analytical program for development of TPI’s products;
• Work with the Pharmaceutical Development team to develop and validate analytical methods to
assess the purity, potency and stability of small molecule drug formulations;
• Work with the Pharmaceutical Chemistry team to develop analytical methods to uncover the
underlying physical organic chemistry mechanisms; 
• Represent the Analytical Sciences group on both long term projects, bringing products to the
market place and short term projects, providing a rapid service to our clients integrating with
our high throughput methods;
• Work with our Analytical QC team to perform analytical technology transfer to contract
laboratories;
• Develop and write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), validation protocols and reports in
compliance with cGMP; Represent the Analytical Sciences team in regulatory discussions.

Qualifications:
• PhD degree or equivalent in Chemistry or related field;
• 4-6 years of methods development experience, with 2-3 years in pharmaceutical industry; 
• Understanding of a range of a wide range of analytical chemistry techniques eg. HPLC, GC,
Mass. Spec, NMR etc. and also a strong appreciation for the underlying chemistry;
• Firm understanding of cGMPs, FDA and ICH guidelines;
• Ability to lead and develop a small team;
• Strong skills in experimental design and data interpretation;
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and an ability to work across
scientific disciplines.
