Job Description:
PerkinElmer, Inc (PKI) is a US$1.7B global provider of products and services for the Health
Sciences and Industrial Technologies markets. PerkinElmer Life & Analytical Sciences (LAS) is
one of three strategic businesses at PKI. It is a US$1.1B global provider of scientific
instruments, reagents, consumables, and services for the Health Sciences industry. We have a
requirement for a global Supply Chain Leader for our Analytical Sciences business, a unit with
US$0.6B in annual revenue. The position will be based in Shelton, CT.

The Role

As a key leader on our global Supply Chain team, you will partner with the leader of our
Analytical Sciences business to develop and execute our product line sourcing strategies. You
will also partner with the Manufacturing and R&D leaders at our Shelton site to identify
supply chain opportunities and execute business plans. You will lead a US based team of
sourcing professionals to drive quality and productivity in a global environment. You will
leverage the skills and abilities of key suppliers to drive quality, productivity, and growth
for PKI. Responsibilities include:

Work with the Analytical Sciences leadership team to develop and execute a strategic plan that
is aligned with our global Supply Chain strategy.
Lead a US based team of sourcing professionals … recruit, train, and develop a world class
Supply Chain team … utilize the skills and abilities of the global Supply Chain team to drive
PKI performance.
Leverage the skills and abilities of global suppliers to drive quality, productivity, and
growth for PKI … drive supply chain to low cost country suppliers.
Involve key suppliers in new product introductions and value engineering … leverage the R&D
capabilities of suppliers to drive quality and productivity.
Develop a robust supply chain of world class suppliers through supplier assessment, supplier
development, and supplier certification.
Deliver productivity and material cost deflation through strategic partnering, value
engineering, and tactical execution … lead major projects and negotiate key contracts.
Assess the supply chain implications of Business Development opportunities…plan and implement
the supply chain integration for all successful deals.
Build a core competency in Supply Chain practices and regulatory affairs to safeguard company
interests and ensure global regulatory compliance for PKI.
Develop a Supply Chain process and structure that creates a competitive advantage for PKI.

actions.
Technical expertise: Strong technical knowledge in related products, processes, or commodities
… direct industry experience is a plus.
Bias for action: Decisive leader who drives change and stimulates continuous improvement.
Strong interpersonal skills: Team player who leads with tact and diplomacy up, down, and
across the organization.
Project Management Experience: Ability to lead large complex cross-functional projects, Six
Sigma Black Belt preferred.
Negotiating skills: Proven experience in effectively negotiating strategic partnerships.
Education: Four year college degree or equivalent in supply chain, engineering, or
manufacturing disciplines, MBA is preferred.
Work Experience: Leadership role in global Supply Chain operations, cross-functional
experience preferred.
Language Skills: Fluent English (written & spoken), preferably multilingual
Other: Position is based in Shelton, CT and requires 30-40% international business travel.
