We are seeking an industry professional capable of engineering software prototypes using
the-art wireless mobile technology within France Telecom's Research and Development Lab in
The engineering task will involve the research and development of an end-to-end call control
telephony solution in a research environment, rendering to a custom server-based multimodal
platform. Communication protocols will involve SIP/RTP for voice prompts (TTS), voice
recognition interfaces (SR) as well as DTMF, and other custom event handling from a
GSM/GPRS/WiFi wireless network.
The candidate is expected to deliver working prototypes used within the laboratory for
and evaluating advanced concepts. The prototypes will be constructed from open source using
Industry Standard technology (such as VXML, SIP and TAPI). The development will be on a
variety of platforms, predominately a Win32 environment and coded in C/C++, and will involve
development of robust telephony interfaces to a Multimodal platform.
It is expected that the candidate will have at least 5 years of industry experience with
C++(5yrs), JS(2yrs), MSVStudio IDEs. VolP, SIP, RTP, VoiceXML, TAPI and DSP audio codecs.
An understanding of telephony interfaces and signaling protocols (ISDN) as well as basic
comprehension of SR and TTS technologies and working knowledge of Cisco gateway
technology is considered a plus.
The candidate is expected to work closely with a small highly motivated research team (4
people). It is important the candidate be self-motivated, able to make valid technical
independently and be comfortable working as a research team member.
