Responsible for growth in applicable
Achieve or exceed revenue production goals by product segment through developing and executing
a comprehensive sales plan for the assigned territory. Develop, manage and lead a sales focused
team. Review sales unit (representative) results on a monthly basis. Manage agency call matrix,
agenda, and agency call report. Analyze the market for new distribution opportunities and
communicate opportunity to Region Sales & Distribution Leader. Utilize a quarterly reporting
form to assess and communicate territory results in the region. Works with field staff to
ensure expectations are being met and there is continuity of communication. Create a strong
working relationship and communication with other Sales Managers as well as other territory
leaders of the claims, services, underwriting, and product management operations. Position
requires 50% travel. Territory includes Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Eastern
Minimum of five years of sales and/or sales management experience: insurance industry (carrier
or agency side) experience strongly preferred. Ability to organize a team to accomplish defined
goals. Possesses Safeco management core competencies. Track record of successfully mentoring or
coaching others in the use of consultative sales skills. Demonstrated knowledge and
understanding of agency operations. Knowledge of Safeco products, systems, and agency
operations desired. Experience in sales planning, forecasting and analysis. Excellent verbal
and written communication skills. Excellent individual planning and time management skills.
Effectively manages and maintains peer and business relationships with high degrees of
integrity and trust. Ability to manage remotely.
