Director of Business Development – Multiple Positions (Full–Time and Part–Time)
Coventry CareLink Insurance Services, Baltimore, Maryland, is a small, family-oriented company
with large growth plans. Coventry CareLink markets and sells to members of affinity groups a
unique product that combines lifestyle service components with a proven long term care
insurance (LTCi) plan.
Positions reports to the vice president and chief marketing officer. Responsible for building
market position for the company by identifying group leads, developing, negotiating, and
closing sales to groups, and through supervision and mentoring of business development staff.
Groups are broadly defined to be any organizational entity that endorses the product and has a
membership or employee base of potential customers. Groups can be local, regional, or

members or employees to purchase the product.
Directs activities of business development managers and staff.
Identifies appropriate group targets, manages relationships, supervises follow up, secures
endorsement and implements offerings.
Works closely with chief marketing officer to determine projections and strategies to achieve
Prepares and monitors sales projections.
Directs and drives staff to achieve projections.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate (1) successful experience in the LTCi affinity group market;
(2) experience working to develop and maintain relationships with group clients; and (3)
experience supervising business development staff.
Must have life and health producer license in resident state
Must be able to close sales
Ability to work independently and on teams; self sufficient; self starter
Interest in leading, teaching, and mentoring staff
Demonstrated expertise in cold calling; talented enough to show staff how to do it
Demonstrated ability to “roll up sleeves” and work on mundane tasks as needed
Good presentation and writing skills
Coventry CareLink offers an attractive compensation package, including base salary
commensurate with experience, incentive compensation, and other benefits. Position will be
