RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Business Development group at the Walt Disney Internet Group is a key component of the
Company’s strategy and operations and looks for revenue driving opportunities, and the
establishment and growth of key partnerships. A significant portion of time will be dedicated
to The Disney Online premium services team, which is committed to leading the market in
creating, marketing and operating, industry defining, entertaining, interactive and high
quality, premium online experiences for kids and families. The group focuses on direct to
consumer relationships and large business to business relationships. 

The Manager – Business Development will be responsible for securing partnerships and deals
that drive revenue. Specific areas of responsibilities will include:
• Identification and execution of new business for Disney Premium Products:
o Prospecting of partners for Premium Products
o Crafting creative business relationships and bounty arrangements
o Creation of business models/plans based on deal parameters
o Drafting and negotiation of term sheets
• Identification and execution of new business for Disney Online, including:
o Prospecting for new revenue opportunities in new internet spaces including Messaging, video
conferencing, and other areas
o Prospecting for new sponsored content creation opportunities with the ad sales group

Another area of focus will be Go.com. Go.com is one of the first RSS aggregation sites which
attracts a loyal audience to its search functionality and easy-to-use access to content. This
person will assist in analyzing and seeking out revenue producing relationships including an
aggressive expansion of our RSS capabilities by investigating third party providers and
working closely with the Go.com team to drive loyalty to go.com and increase search traffic. 

The final area of focus will be related to corporate initiatives including new business
development opportunities in the new media distribution area including: video search
relationships; media download services; and other developing revenue-creating opportunities in
the online space.

We are looking for an experienced, creative, talented and motivated team player to take
initiative and work closely with the head of business development to drive our business in the
future.

Excellent analytical skills and negotiation experience are required. Dynamic interpersonal
skills and presentation abilities are also required

SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED: 
• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of business development deal experience 
• MBA or JD strongly preferred . 
• Must possess a strong creative and innovative acumen, and an appreciation for popular
culture and consumer product trends and consumption habits.
• Must possess a general understanding of mobile application and media technologies and
products.
• The candidate should possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills, strong
project management skills, creativity and the ability to work effectively under deadlines and
in complex business environments. 
• A proven track record in building highly effective interpersonal business relationships is
critical, as is the ability to ramp up quickly on new technologies. 
• The candidate must also be a highly motivated self-starter and must demonstrate the
initiative and the ability to work as part of a team environment that demands excellence. 
• Must be resourceful and be able to work independently.
• Knowledge of the entertainment and wireless industries, including business models and
operations, is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft - Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, and Project, Adobe, Flash
etc.
