Basic Function of the Vice President of Physician Services
The Vice President for Physician Services is a member of the senior management staff of the
Medical Center and is responsible for the operational, fiscal, and overall direction of the
departments assigned. The Vice President for Physician Services assures an organizational
management structure that supports efficient and effective care delivery models emphasizing
quality care, performance improvement, and cost control. The Vice President for Physician
Services integrates the plans of care of departments assigned to support the mission, goals,
and principal functions of the institution.
Bachelor of Science from an accredited university in Allied Health, Hospital Administration,
or related field. 5 Years experience as an administrator of a large physician group with
greater than 5 doctors. MBA or MHA from an accredited university preferred. American College
of Medical Practice Executive certification preferred. Knowledge of physician contract law,
credentialing, and recruitment.
