MP TotalCare, a national market leader in medical supplies and pharmaceutical products is
currently seeking a full-time Senior Web Developer to be based in our Tampa, Florida

The Sr. Web Developer interacts with various internal & external customers to design, develop,
build and manage our corporate web site(s). Develops high level requirements and design
specifications based on those interactions. The scope of the design responsibilities can
include: both static & dynamic pages, scripting, session management, creating object models,
defining or creating graphical user interfaces, designing application and infrastructure
objects, integration adapters, component interface specifications, and system prototypes.
Additional design responsibilities include evaluating design alternatives and recommending the
most appropriate solution. Design alternatives are evaluated based on development cost,
reusability, runtime performance, software complexity, and change flexibility. 

The Sr. Web Developer is responsible for writing code, unit testing, integration testing,
debugging, using third-party class libraries, and working with a configuration management
tool. Software development activities can include building new software, integrating with
existing systems, or integrating with commercial off-the-shelf software. The Sr. Web Developer
is also responsible for following project standards for source code documentation and
development environment. 

The Sr. Web Developer is responsible for communicating the status of the software design and
development progress in both a written and verbal form to the project lead. Some travel might
be required to participate in analysis activities, software design reviews, source code
reviews, or user interface design reviews. 

Specific Responsibilities: 
· producing design models for specific software components from a business object model,
requirements specification, or other analysis artifacts 
· identifying design alternatives that will implement a solution from a specific analysis
· recommending appropriate design alternatives to be implemented based on customer constraints

· participating in requirements gathering activities and providing feedback 
· participating in analysis activities such as producing use cases or a business object model

· developing software that conforms to a design model within its constraints 
· validating the implementation for conformance to the design 
· developing and executing unit test programs to ensure correctness of the implementation 
· performance tuning of specific software components 
· preparing documentation for design, source code, unit test plans, integration tests, release
notes, requirements reviews, and design feedback as required 
· participating in the evaluation of software development tools 
· leading design and code reviews 
· enforcing established development standards and code style guidelines 
· working in compliance with configuration management rules and guidelines 
· participating in user interface design reviews with the customer 
· communicating the status of development progress 
The Sr. Web Developer designs and builds web sites and supporting web site components to
satisfy “look & feel” requirements as determined by the Sales & Marketing team, and technical
requirements as directed by the IT department. This position will have two reporting lines:
one to Sales & Marketing, the other to IT management.

Technical Qualifications:

The Sr. Web Developer must understand object-oriented software development concepts such as
inheritance, polymorphism, encapsulation, and composition and must be able to use these
concepts in a software design of a specific component. The Sr. Web Developer must be able to
create class diagrams, interaction diagrams, and state diagrams from a business object model,
requirement specification, or other analysis artifacts. The Sr. Web Developer must be able to
use design patterns and component frameworks in all design activities.

In addition to the design skills, the Sr. Web Developer must also be able to translate these
concepts from a design model to a working software object. The design and development skills
should also include experience with building distributed computing applications and
understanding the performance implications of interface design for distributed object

The criteria for several of the following technical qualifications are described as
"demonstrated proficiency." Proficiency is demonstrated by having developed specific software
components on previous projects for which the candidate had sole responsibility, and which
were delivered and incorporated in a system currently in production. Academic experience,
informal training (for example, reading material) or experimentation does not qualify as
demonstrated experience. 

Required Skills: 
· At least five years of industry experience developing and supporting corporate web site(s).
Experience must include at least three years designing and developing commercial grade
“Informational” and “eCommerce” based web sites. Those web sites will have included functional
features such as New Customer Registration, Customer Account Management, Secure Shopping Cart &
Checkout, and Site Administration including Product Management. Those web sites also were
developed with security in mind
· Programming language experience includes demonstrated proficiency in the use of the
following technologies::
o Java technologies:
§ Java Foundation Classes (JFC) 
§ Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) 
§ JavaBeans 
§ Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) 
§ Java Servlet 
§ Java Server Pages (JSP) 
§ Java Remote Method Invocation (RMI) 
§ Java Security 
§ Java Naming and Directory Interface
o Web/Internet Technologies: 
§ Apache/HTTP, TomCat, HTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, XSLT, XML, SSL, Struts
o Integrated Development Environment (IDE) tools:
§ Eclipse, DreamWeaver, DreamWeaver MX studio
o Application Server Technologies:
§ BEA WebLogic Server
o Database Technologies:
§ SQL Server, MySql
· Demonstrated proficiency in developing software using at least one of the industry-common
modeling methodologies such as UML, OMT, Booch, and Objectory. Preferred modeling experience
is using the Unified Modeling Language (UML). 
· Demonstrated proficiency in configuration management concepts and principles, as well as
experience using one of the following tools: 
o WinCVS
o Microsoft Visual SourceSafe 
· Demonstrated proficiency in unit testing and integration testing techniques and tools such
as Rational Purify, Mercury Interactive, WinRunner or XRunner, or Sun JavaStar. 
· Design and development experience must include implementing a multi-tier application in a
Unix/Linux environment.
Education: Preferably a 4 year degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical discipline.
General Qualifications:

The Sr. Web Developer is a member of a team and is required to participate in project team
activities. To perform these activities, the Sr. Web Developer is required to have the
following additional skills:
