The Project Manager reports to the SVP, Product. This position manages select, complex
internal projects, from planning through launch and maintenance, to ensure successful
completion according to the project plan. The Project Manager works with the Product Managers,
Development, QA, Marketing and business owner on all stages of the project lifecycle. It is
likely the Project Manager will be handling multiple project efforts simultaneously.
Responsibilities include coordinating requirements and implementation estimates for new
projects, developing project plans and managing schedules, planning and conducting regular
project meetings, resource scheduling and tracking, preparing required project documentation.
The Project Manager creates a structure for project planning and control; initiates practices
to minimize possible failure; and makes sure that risks have been evaluated and that risk
mitigation plans have been prepared. The Project Manager must be highly proactive, taking
ownership of the project progress, overcoming obstacles and getting things done.
Works with leads in other functional areas to implement project aspects such as:
Developing and maintaining a master timeline with task and task assignments.
Scheduling and management of project plans, project conflicts and risk analysis.
Expertly executes project plans through the application of industry recognized project
management fundamentals and best practices.
Required to maintain diplomacy in all situations, support teamwork and to keep the team
focused on agreed deliverables.
Manages project communication including project meetings, status updates, metric reporting,
Responsible for issue tracking and coordination, including proactive work with development and
quality assurance teams to reduce issues across project initiatives.
Education and Experience required:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus.
Strong Software Development Lifecycle knowledge specifically with on-line technologies,
including industry recognized project methodology knowledge.
Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project and Visio with proven expertise in Project.
Managing small groups of cross-departmental workers.
3+ years of project management experience.
Internet work experience.
Solid understanding of Internet and mainstream information technology concepts.
Exceptional written, verbal communications and work organization skills.
Ability to be highly proactive in overcoming obstacles to project success.
Highly skilled in requirements analysis and management.
Ability to manage and handle ambiguity.
Risk identification, mitigation and conflict resolution skills.
Demonstrate business acumen.
