Support research in a cell-based assay group aimed at understanding the mechanism of action of
a drug in clinical trial. The work involves handling of human blood and clinical bacterial
strains. The successful candidate must have basic technical skills pertinent in microbiology
and experience with handling of biologically active protein, such as recombinant proteins,
plasma enzymes and antibodies. Other required areas of expertise are culturing of mammalian
cell, protein-based analytical tools (electrophoresis, Western blotting, ELISA), automated
detection equipment, and data analysis using Excel. Familiarity with pharmaceutical work
environment is a must and exposure to oncology drug discovery desirable. Knowledge of the
innate immune system and blood clotting are assets, but are not required.
BS or MS in biochemistry, molecular biology, or cell biology and at least 6 years (BS) or 4
years (MS) of experience after graduation.
