PRIMARY FUNCTION Develops site occupational health policies, provides occupational health
services to employees, provides guidance to managers on occupational health issues.
Provides case management for workers comp cases with less than 40 hours of lost time, ensures
employees recieve occupational health medical surveillance (e.g., hearing tests, spirometry,
lab tests) on time in complaince with federal and state regulations and Abbott requirements.
Provides trainging to employees in relavent areas (e.g., Bloodborne pathogens). Works with EHS
Staff to ensure compliance with applicable regulations (e.g.,CALOSHA recordkeeping,sharps log,
ADA accomodations, etc.). Maintains all site employee medical records in a confidential
manner. Serves as point-of-contact with occupational health physician(s). Works with HR staff
as needed (e.g., drug/alcohol evaluations, pre-employment drug screens, ADA accomodations
etc.) Assists with onsite human testing programs by managing out-of-range result notifications
to employees. Coordinates works with division and corporate EHS, as needed.
May act as project lead person
Current RN license, Bachelors Degree required, Certification in OH Nursing required (eligible
to take the exam acceptable), Masters Degree preferred
Minimum of 7 years experience in OH Nursing required
Works under consultative direction toward predetermined goals; determines needs, designs &
coordinates major projects; may act as lead person on medium to large projects.
